Theres a Millen Reasons Why The Lions Can’t Win

The Matt Millen era in Detroit has finally come to an end. Since he was hired as the Lion’s GM in 2001, he has managed to compile the worst record in the NFL over the past 7 seasons…31-84. And after Detroit started out this season 0-3 while being outscored 113-59, it was finally time for his Millen to pack his bags. There has been so much talent drafted by the Lions over the past few years that Millen has let go to waste, most notably at the wide receiver position (see Charles Rogers, Mike Williams, Roy Williams, and Calvin Johnson). With the fans haunting the stadium with paper bags over their heads and countless signs that said “FIRE MILLEN,” it was only a matter of time before Millen was kicked to the curb.

Earlier in the week William Ford Jr., son of Lions’ principle owner William Clay Ford and vice chairman of the Lions said the following regarding his opinion of Millen’s tenure thus far: “It’s embarrassing,” and that if “had the authority” he’d personally shove Millen out the door. It hasn’t been released yet whether Millen resigned or was indeed fired, however this was reported on earlier this morning…

Millen was informed of the move last night during a late-night high-level meeting. This morning several people within the building confirmed that he had large packing boxes in his office and he made his way around to different employees telling them of the move.

Congratulations Millen, the entire Lions organization and its fanbase thinks…
